The new Hyperdrive 5 is an amazingly ultra fast pure SATA
hard disc. Instead of needing to use the expensive DDR1ECC registered modules
we can now use the reasonably priced DDRII DRAM modules.
With use of the onboard Li-Ion battery buffering system, any
data will be saved in the case of a power cut. As a back up you can also use a
Compact Flash Card in the size according to your memory usage (16 GB / 32 GB /
64 GB) which you simply insert into the front panel of your Hyperdrive
5.
Should any power loss occur, an automatic back up will be made.
By the simple press of a button you can back up your data and play it back
again any time you want. Likewise the Hyperdrive
5 has a connection for an external
power supply which can be attached if required.
It’s extreme speed is ideal for all types of graphics, extreme
games and of course complex databank applications which are our speciality.
Your new Hyperdrive 5 comes
again in a 5.25” case and works without the need of a driver whatever your
operating system may be.
The highlight is that the Hyperdrive
5 has two SATA II interfaces. Because
of the connection of both interfaces you can achieve up to 400MB/s data
transfer in a RAID-0 configuration.
A considerable further speed gain can be achieved by using a
raid controller like the Areca ARC 1680ix with a 4 GB cache.
